This policy applies to all Clatar web, desktop, and mobile applications built for makers, product photographers, and small studio creators to manage their photography setup workflows.
We will never access your local-only Set Cards, Prop Locker entries, or A/B comparison board content without your explicit written permission, no exceptions.
We will never sell, rent, or license your unpublished creative workflow data to third parties for advertising, data brokerage, or commercial monetization purposes.
We will never use your private setup notes, reference images, or prop library entries to train AI models unless you explicitly opt-in to contribute content to public template libraries.
By default, all content you create in Clatar stays stored locally on your device, and we never receive or access this data. This includes all content saved to your Set Cards (reference images, lighting notes, backdrop details, tags, prop placement ideas), your full Prop Locker inventory, and A/B compare board edits and annotations. If you choose to enable end-to-end encrypted cloud sync, we only receive encrypted copies of this content that we cannot decrypt or view.
You can use 100% of Clatar's core features in offline mode without creating an account or sharing any personal information. If you choose to register for an account to access cloud sync or collaborative features, we only collect your email address and chosen display name. We do not require you to share any additional personal information (including your legal name, location, or phone number) to use our service.
We collect fully anonymized, non-identifiable usage data to improve Clatar's features, such as how many users save Prop Locker entries, how often the A/B compare tool is used, and common Set Card tag categories. This data is never linked to your account or personal identity, and you can opt out of this collection at any time in your app settings.
We only use collected information for the following limited purposes:

We only share content when you intentionally choose to share Set Cards, Prop Locker lists, or A/B comparison boards with collaborators, or when you choose to publish your setup templates to public Clatar community libraries.
We may disclose required information if we receive a valid, enforceable legal request. We will always notify you of the request before disclosing your data unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
Our local-first architecture gives you full, direct control over all your creative data without requiring you to contact our team:
All data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's native encryption systems, and we have no ability to access or decrypt this content.
All content synced to our cloud servers is end-to-end encrypted. Encryption keys are stored only on your personal devices, meaning no Clatar employee, contractor, or third party can access the unencrypted content of your Set Cards, Prop Locker, or A/B comparison boards.
Clatar is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from users under 13, and if we become aware that we have received information from a user under 13, we will immediately and permanently delete all associated data.
We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. We will notify all users of upcoming changes via in-app notification and email (if you have provided an address) at least 30 days before the updated policy takes effect. If you do not agree to the updated policy, you may export all your data and discontinue use of Clatar before the new policy goes into effect.
